Grey Structure Calculator provides early planning estimates. It does not design a structure, approve construction, certify material, measure completed work, issue a bill of quantities or quote a project.
1. What the calculators do
The tools apply visible formulas to values selected or entered by the user. The main calculator combines covered area with an editable or built-in planning rate and uses broad material ratios. The concrete, steel and brick tools convert dimensions and stated assumptions into approximate quantities.
2. What the calculators cannot know
- Actual soil and groundwater conditions.
- Approved architectural and structural design.
- Member sizes, reinforcement details, loads and seismic requirements.
- Material grade, source, testing and acceptance.
- Local authority, society and utility requirements.
- Current supplier availability and project-specific prices.
- Contract inclusions, taxes, escalation, overhead and risk.
- Workmanship, loss, delay, rework and site logistics.
Because those factors affect cost and quantity, displayed results can differ materially from a contractor quotation, procurement requirement or completed-project cost.
3. Built-in rates and ratios
Built-in rates, city factors, storey factors, material ratios and the ±6% range are editorial planning assumptions retained and documented in the methodology. They are not official Pakistan market rates, a statistical confidence interval or a promise of accuracy. Use a dated custom rate where reliable project evidence exists.
4. Not professional advice or approval
The site does not provide licensed engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, contracting, legal, tax, financial, geotechnical, testing or inspection services. Reading a guide, using a calculator or sending an email does not create a professional, client, fiduciary or contractor relationship.
5. Safety-critical decisions
Do not use the site to select foundation type, concrete strength, reinforcement size or spacing, member dimensions, demolition sequence, temporary works, excavation support or code compliance. Those decisions require the appropriate qualified professionals, approved documents and authority requirements.
6. Standards and external sources
Links to PEC, PBS, PSQCA, CDA, ACI, ISO or another organization provide context and further reading. A link does not mean that organization sponsors, reviews or endorses this site. Standards may be updated, withdrawn, adopted differently or require purchase. Confirm the edition and applicability stated in the project documents.
7. User responsibility
Check measurements, units, assumptions, drawing revisions, scope and arithmetic before relying on an output. Obtain project-specific advice and quotations. Keep a contingency appropriate to the uncertainty and do not order structural materials solely from an online estimate.
8. Availability and errors
Reasonable care is taken to test the calculators and publish correction routes, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” Pages, links or tools may be unavailable, outdated or incorrect. Report reproducible errors through the contact page.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site owner, operators, contributors and service providers are not liable for losses arising from use of or inability to use the site, reliance on an estimate, cost overrun, delay, procurement decision, design decision, construction defect, data loss or third-party destination. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Advertising and commercial references
An advertisement, future affiliate link or mention of a product does not certify quality or suitability. Paid or affiliate relationships should be disclosed where introduced. The calculators currently do not rank contractors, suppliers or brands.
